Background Effect

Example:




Step 1

Create a new flash document, press Ctrl+J on the keyboard (Document Properties) and set Width to 200 and Height to 150px. Frame rate set to 42fps. (Frames per Second).



Step 2


Take the Rectangle Tool (R), Stroke Color must be switched off, under Fill Color choose any color, and draw a "rectangle". Look at the picture below!



Step 3

Click on frame 15 and press F6 (Keyframe).

Step 4

After that, click on frame 20, and press again F6. Then, select your "rectangle", open the Color Mixer Pannel (Shift+F9), and set the options from the picture below.



Step 5

Go back on frame 15, open the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3), and under Tween choose Shape.



Step 6

Click on frame 25, press F6, take the Free Transform Tool (Q), and do like it is shown on the picture below.



Step 7

Go back on frame 20 and from the Properties Panel under Tween choose again Shape.

Step 8

Click on frame 30, press F6, take the Free Transform Tool (Q), hold down Shift key, and do like it is shown on the picture below.



Step 9

Go back on frame 25 and from the Properties Panel under Tween choose again Shape.



Step 10

Insert a new layer and name it mask.

Step 11

Lock layer 1, click on the first frame of layer mask, take the Oval Tool (O), Stroke Color must be switched off, under Fill Color choose any color and draw a little "circle". Look at the picture below.



Step 12

Click on frame 15 of layer mask, take the Free Transform Tool (Q), and increase your "circle".



Step 13

Go back on frame 1, and from Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) under Tween choose Shape.

Step 14

Select the mask layer and choose right-click and select mask to turn the layer into a mask.



Step 15

After that, hide that layer.



We're done!

Test your Movie (Ctrl+Enter).
