This detailed, thoroughly explained tutorial will show you how to create New York text presentation. You don't have to use action script code to make this very trendy presentation. To create this lesson, you just have to use a picture of New York and a little flash tips and tricks.
Step 1
First of all, save a picture of New York below!

Step 2
Open a new Flash document (File > New > Flash Document). Press Ctrl+J key on the keyboard (Document Properties) and set the width of your document to 400 pixels and the height to 301 pixels (as the dimensions of picture). Select any color as background color. Set your Flash movie's frame rate to 28 and click ok. See the picture below!

Step 3
Choose now, file > Import > Import to stage (Shortcut key: Ctrl+R) and import a picture into a flash stage!
Step 4
While the picture is still selected, go to the Align Panel (Ctrl+K) and do the following:
1. Make sure that the Align/Distribute to Stage button is turned on, 2. Click on the Align horizontal center button and 3. Click the Align vertical center button.

Step 5
While the picture of New York is still selected, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this picture into a Movie Clip Symbol.

Step 6
Then, click on frame 20, 185 and 200 and press F6 key.
Step 7
Go back now on frame 1, take the Selection Tool (V) and click once on the picture to select it. After that, go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage.On the right, you will see the Color menu. Select Advanced on it, click on Settings button set the following options and click ok.

Then, select Filters tab from the left side. Click after that on the plus icon and select the Blur filter. Make the adjustments as follows:

Repeat this process also for frame 200.
Step 8
Right-click anywhere on the gray area between frame 1 and 20 and frame 185 and 200 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.
Step 9
Take the Selection Tool (V) now and double click on layer 1 to rename its name into a New Yrok. After that, create a new layer above the layer New York and name it text.
Step 10
Lock now layer New York, select layer text, click on frame 20 and press F6 key. While you're still on frame 20 of layer text, take the Text Tool (A) and go the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. Then, choose the following options:
1. Select a Static Text field, 2. Select a Trebuchet MS as font. 3. Choose 12 as font size and bold it, 4. Select #666666 as color, 5. As the rendering option, select Use Anti-alias for readability.

Then, type any adequate text about New York. For this lesson, I have used a verses of very popular Frank Sinatra songs - New york, new york! :)
Step 11
While the text is still selected, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this text into a Movie Clip Symbol.

Step 12
Click now on frame 50 and 100 and press F6 key. After that, go back on frame 20, take the Free Transform Tool (Q), press and Hold down Shift key and do like it is shown on the picture below!

Step 13
Click now on frame 110 and press F6 key.
Step 14
While you're still on frame 110, take the Free Transform Tool (Q) and do like it is shown on the picture below!

Step 15
After that, While you're still on frame 110, take the Selection TOol (V) and click once on the picture to select it. Then, go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. On the right, you will see the Color menu. Select Alpha in it and put it down to 0%.

Step 16
Go back now on layer 100, and go again to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3). Then, choose the following options:

Create now a new layer above the layer text and name it text 1. Then, click on frame 110 of layer text 1 and press F6 key. While you're still on frame 110, take again the Text TOol (A). Then, type some other text.
Step 18
While the text is still selected, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this text into a Movie Clip Symbol.
Step 19
Click now on frame 120 and press F6 key.
Step 20
Go back now on frame 110, and place your text on the position like it is shown on the picture below!

Step 21
While you're still on frame 110, repeat step 15 and 16.
Step 22
Click now on frame 180 and 185 and press F6 key. While you're still on frame 185, repeat step 14 and after that step 16!
Step 23
Go back now on frame 180 and repeat step 16.
Step 24
Go back now on layer text and after that choose right-click anywhere on the gray area between frame 20 and 50 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears. See the picture below.

We're done now!
