In this thoroughly explained, detailed lesson, I will show you how to create a really cool shine effect which can be applied to any image, object... You don't have to use action script code to make this lesson. Using this lesson, you will also learn how to draw shine shape using the flash tools for drawing, how to convert it into a Movie Clip, how to create Motion Tween and much more! For this example, I will use Sony Ericsson mobile phone. Let's start!
Step 1
Open a new flash document. Choose Modify > Document (Ctrl+J). Set the movie's width to 300 and movie's height to 200. Set your Flash movie's frame rate to 33. Select black as background color and click ok.
Step 2
Take the Line Tool (N) and go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. Then, choose the following options:
1 Enter #FFFFFF for the stroke color. 2. Select Solid as the type of outline, with the line thickness set to 1.

The, draw this shape:

Step 3
Take the Piant Bucket Tool (K), select white as color and fill the shape that we just created. See the picture below.

Step 4
Take the Selection Tool (V), select the outline (stroke) of shape and press delete key on the keyboard to delete it.

Step 5
Take again the Selection Tool (V). select the shape and press F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this shape into a Movie Clip Symbol. See the picture below.

Step 6
Double-click on the movie clip on stage with the Selection tool (V).You should now be inside the movie clip.

Step 7
While the shape is still selected, press again F8 key to convert this shape again into a Movie Clip Symbol.

Step 8
Click on frame 15 and after that on frame 30 and press F6 key.
Step 9
While you're still on frame 30, take the Free Transform Tool (Q) and decrease shape a lot. See the picture below.

Repeat the previous step also for the first frame.
Step 11
Right-click anywhere on the gray area between frame 1 and 15 and frame 15 and 30 on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.See the picture below.

Click on frame 15 and double-click on the movie clip (shape) on stage with the Selection tool (V). See the picture below.

Step 13
While the shape is still selected, press again F8 key (Convert to Symbol) to convert this shape again into a Movie Clip Symbol.

Click on frame 50 and press F6 key.
Step 15
Go back on frame 1 and go to the Properties Panel below the stage. Select Motion from the Tween menu, and for Rotate set CW. See the picture below.

Step 16
Click again on frame 1 and press Ctrl+C key (Copy).
Step 17
Create a new layer above the layer 1 (layer 2), click on frame 1 and press Ctrl+Shift+V key (Paste in Place).
Step 18
Click on frame 25 and after that on frame 50 and press F6 key.
Step 19
Go back on the first frame of layer 2 and go to the Properties Panel (Ctrl+F3) below the stage. Select Motion from the Tween menu, for Rotate set CCW and for Ease set -63%. See the picture below.

Step 20
Click on frame 25 and go again to the Properties Panel below the stage. Select again Motion from the Tween menu and for Rotate set CW.

Step 21
Go back on the previous scene (See the picture below).

Then. click on frame 90 and press F5 key.
Step 22
Go back on the main scene (Scene 1) and double click on layer 1 to rename its name in shine.
Step 23
Choose Modify > Document (Ctrl+J) and change your background color in white.

Step 24
Createa a new layer and name it picture. After that, using the mouse, move the picture layer below the shape layer. See the picture below.

Download my picture.

Lock shine layer, select picture layer and choose File > Import > Import to Stage (Ctrl+R) and import my picture.
Step 27
While the picture is still selected, go to the Align Panel (Ctrl+K). Then, do the following in the Align panel:
1.Make sure that the Align/Distribute to Stage button is turned on, 2.Click on the Align horizontal center button and, 3.Click the Align vertical center button.

Now, you have aligned your picture with the background.
Step 28
Lock picture layer and unlock shine layer.
Step 29
Select shine layer, take the Selection Tool (V) and place the shine shape on the position like it is shown on the pictur below.

Test your Movie (Ctrl+Enter).
