With this lesson, you are going to learn how to make attractive object appearance with sound in flash without Action Script. This effect is very useful and you can use it for any flash header, some presentation, animation, banner. For this effect I will use mask effect and modern house interior that will represent my object. Using this lesson, you will also learn how to import any sound file into a flash stage, how to create mask layer, Motion Tween, how to use Line Tool to draw any object.... Let's start!
Before You Open a new Flash document, You must to find any picture of any object (car, house...). For this example I will use modern house interior. You can also download my picture if you like.
Start flash, Set the movie's width and height at whatever you want, set the frame rate at whatever you want, for this example I will use 36 fps, set the background colour as whatever you like, I used white for this example.
Choose File > Import > Import to stage and Import your picture. While the picture is still selected, press F8 key (Convert to Symbol), to convert this picture into a Movie Clip Symbol. See the picture below.
Double-click on the movie clip on stage with the Selection tool (V). You should now be inside the Movie Clip.
While the picture is still selected, press again F8 key to convert this picture again into a Movie Clip Symbol.
Lock layer 1, create a new layer above layer 1 (layer 2), select it and take the Line Tool (N). For line color choose any dark color if you have white or some light background and if you have some dark background choose any light color. In my example, I have white background and for Line color I will choose black color. For Stroke Style choose Solid with thickness set to 1. See the picture below.
Then, draw a contour of object (picture). See the picture below.
Select layer 3, take the Brush Tool (B), for Brush size choose big size, for Brush color choose any color and click somewhere on the object contour. See the pictures below.
Press F6 key, and paint a little more object contour using the Brush Tool. See the picture below.
Repeat this process until you don't paint one part of picture. See the picture below.
Select layer 3 and convert it to a mask by right-clicking on the layer 3 and selecting Mask.See the picture below.
Create a new layer above layer 3 (layer 4). Unlock layer 2, click on the first frame and press Ctrl+C key (Copy). Go back on layer 4, click on the first frame and press Ctrl+Shift+V key (Paste in Place).
Lock layer 2 and 4 and create a new layer above layer 4 (layer5). Take again the Brush Tool (B) and paint some other part of picture in an equivalent way like we have paint the first part of object (picture). See the picture below.
Select layer 5 and convert it to a mask by right-clicking on the layer 5 and selecting Mask.See the picture below.
Go back on layer 1, unhide and unlock it and using the "drag and drop technique" move the first frame on frame 25. See the picture below.
After that, click on frame 45 and press F6 key. Then, go back on frame 25, take the Selection Tool (V), click once on the picture to select it and go to the Properties Panel below the stage. On the right, you will see the Color menu. Select Advanced, click on Settings button and choose the following options.
Right-click anywhere on the gray area between the two keyframes on the timeline and choose Create Motion Tween from the menu that appears.
It's time for sound. Create a new layer above all layers and name it sound. Then, find somewhere any sound file and Import it into a Flash Library (File > Import > Import to Library). After that, click on the first frame of layer sound and using the "drag and drop" technique move it from the Library on the Stage. See the picture below.
Go back on the main scene (Scene1) and test your Movie (Ctrl+Enter).
